My family had the privilege of attending Lego KidsFest when it arrived in town last weekend at the Suburban Showcase in Novi, MI. This was our first time attending Lego KidsFest so we only knew what to expect from reading information on the Lego KidsFest website. We were given 4 tickets from US Family Guide but the event had sold out for the weekend before the weekend even came so we knew that the event would be busy. I have noticed that every city it stops in seems to sell out so if you are planning on going do NOT wait till the last minute to buy your tickets. Purchase them early so you can go during the time you want to attend.
What is Lego KidsFest ?
Covering more than 150,000+ square feet of space, the North American LEGO KidsFest tour consists of five sessions over three days. Each of the sessions offers the same interactive activities and play areas for all ages, including:
• LEGO Model Gallery: dozens of life-sized models made entirely from LEGO bricks • LEGO Master Builders: live demonstrations and activities from professional LEGO builders • Creation Nation: build your own creation to add to a custom map of the U.S. • Race Ramps: build your own custom car, and race it down the ramp against friends and family • Construction Zones: creative free build, play and display areas • LEGO DUPLO®: younger visitors can explore imagination through building • LEGO Retail and KidsFest Marketplace: purchase LEGO and official KidsFest tour merchandise • Brick Pile: a gigantic pile full of LEGO bricks for creative play and enjoyment • Monochromatic Builds: bricks of a single color to foster group creativity • Brickscapes: fantastic displays that combine lots of LEGO and DUPLO sets And much more!
Having attended our First ever Lego KidsFest, I can't wait until they come back to the Detroit Metro area. My children are huge Lego fans and this is one thing they both can agree on as a fun family night out. It was also a great time to spend together as parents because even "big" kids love to play with legos.
It is truly amazing seeing the sculptures and pieces they are able to create with lego bricks. It goes to prove the point that anything is possible with Lego bricks when you put your mind to it. To find out when they will be visiting your area, check out Lego KidsFest.
